On January 22, a South Korean court recently ruled that the NFT is speculative in nature and not protected by current law. Reportedly, the court ruling was in response to a lawsuit filed by an individual who purchased NFT, but later found that the digital artwork was not unique because the seller made multiple copies. Individuals have claimed compensation for their losses, but the court has held that the NFT is a speculative investment not covered by applicable consumer protection laws.
